Bushnell Professor of Food Science and Human Nutrition, University of Florida Linda M. Bartoshuk is Bushnell Professor in Food Science and Human Nutrition in the Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences (University of Florida). She is an experimental psychologist who has served as President of the Association for Psychological Science, Association for Chemoreception Sciences, Divs 1 and 6 of the American Psychological Association and she has been elected to the American Academy of Arts and Sciences and the National Academy of Sciences. She studies the health impact of variation in the sensory properties of foods across individuals. She discovered supertasters: individuals who experience unusually intense tastes as well as oral pain sensations. Most of her research has been supported by NIH grants. In 2011 she received the McGovern Award from the American Association for the Advancement of Science for her research in the behavioral sciences.
